The California Foundation for Occupational Therapy (CFOT) was founded in 1981 as a nonprofit, public benefit organization to help support students, practitioners, and researchers advance their knowledge and skills, thereby enhancing occupational therapy services to the public.

The California Foundation for Occupational Therapy is a non-profit (501c3) public benefit foundation whose mission is to advance the science of occupational therapy by enhancing the quality and knowledge of occupational therapy services to the public through support of occupational therapy research and educational endeavors.
